After several month of a continuous search for myself, I finally found... Him :)

my apologies for the ridiculously long delay... I hadn't got enough time to be involved in my internet world.. Actually I have a proof that I haven't been responding to my email much..

so, yeah! I'm back, I'm alive... :0)

I'm in Amman now, I left Canada last June. Now I am finishing my second year of IB here and waiting to find to which universities I'm gonna get accepted...

The Iraqi elections went quietly and normally here in Jordan, people didn't make a big deal out of it, the turnout of Iraqis who registered to vote was very disappointing; there were almost 30,000 voters in Jordan, out of the estimated 400,000 Iraqis living in Jordan. One of the main reasons for the low number of Iraqi voters was because of the lack of polling stations.

Mom voted, and she was so happy to vote, Raed voted too :)

I couldn't go with mom because I have a long school day and I usually come home around 4-5pm. But then on Thursday I decided to go and vote, and I took a shower and got dressed and wore my favorite eau de toilet ;o), but then I fell ill and got this killing migrain attack, I had to stay in bed for two days :0(.

Anyhow, I really wanted to vote actually, regardless of how much skeptical I was of the results. I do believe that these elections will be at least a beginning of a better government, even though there were news in Iraqi TV channels about attempts to block voters in some areas, and attempts to facilitate voting for certain groups of Iraqis because of which party they support...blablabla news rumors fake elections lies truths yadayadayada..

future is coming, and we will see the coming government.

I hope it will be a government that, at least, knows what goes on inside the green zone... And hopefully the coming Iraqi prime minister will know previously the reason behind the meeting he goes to next time he's dragged from his beard to the conventions center.

March 19th, 2005

today tens of thousands demonstrated against the war of occupation, asking to stop the war and the soldiers to come back...
the demonstration in Victoria wasn't very big, a crowd is never small, they say...
but there were bunch of good speakers who spoke there, I and my friend Waleed Rabiaa did the opening speech... i think it was allright.

meanwhile, resistance site had posted a letter to the American people couple of days ago... i just noticed it..

news from Iraq aren't good... I'm not happy.

Transfer Test Received, Money is on the way

Raed confirmed to me that he received the 500CAD transfer I made weeks ago, it took some time though, I have exchanged the money to USD and I transferred 12,500USD to Raed... The money should reach there within 10 business days.

the rest of the money is still with me, i'm still receiving donations through mail and via paypal, and I will make another transfer to Raed within two weeks (for those who have been emailing me and asking whether they should send donation or is it too late, you still have some time)...

My travel break is going fine so far, I've been to Toronto earlier this week to attend the WAC (World Affairs Conference, one of the most successful student-run conferences in north america), this year's topic was "oppression", and it was interesting...

the 10 of us (Pearson Ethics Initiative students) also attended Foray Conference which was in Toronto as well, and it was about social justice... there was a film contest included and we proposed to film a documentary about social oppression...
I liked Toronto, and it pretty much reminded me of Baghdad with the huge masses of concrete (i.e. buildings) all over the place..

I'm back to Victoria now, staying with a host family and enjoying the sun and the beautiful air in a mediterannian-like weather :-)... I'll be going back to Pearson next sunday... the travelling fun is over, and Pearson's fun is about to begin.

and oh, travelling is not quiet over yet, once i'm back to Pearson, i will travel again, this time to vancouver, part of my anthropology assessment is to do field work about chinese immigrants in Vancouver.... I'm sure that'll be fun.

Give Bush A Wake-up Call

Monday, January 17

It amazes me how some people are still supporting the war on Iraq till this moment.
I just received another hate mail (haven't been getting such junk for a while), from a US soldier I donno where from, but he seemed to like cursing a lot!...i found this part of his message kinda interesting..

Should the American people choose to they could wipe the majority of your disgusting race off of this planet in a matter of days. Go ** **** *** ******. The best way to take peace is with a knife.

I can never understand how can someone think like that. When I first read his message, I laughed, but then I realized that this is not a comedian writing this to entertain me, its actually someone believes in what he's saying... I realized that this is so sad.
I donno who feeds him with this sort of feelings and thoughts, who supports his racism... but anyway, it doesn't sound nice to me when I know that this person is the same one who came 20 months ago to liberate me.
I feel disappointed whenever I read from such a loser who thinks he has a purer blood because he's american.
sucha virus can spread around quickly, and this kind of people could destroy their own nation, more people like him and there will be nothing left to be proud of.
